Your information
Privacy Policy
CARE helps you reflect on your relationships through assessments, education, and exercises. This page explains what the iOS app saves, when an outside service may receive information, and how to remove your data.
Effective October 7, 2026 · Operated by Amy Banks, MD.
What CARE saves on your device
The current iOS app stores its records locally on your device. It does not create a CARE account or upload your profile, contacts, assessment answers, or exercise answers to a CARE server. The app saves:
- Your profile name, optional profile photo, and assessment reminder preference.
- People you add, including their names, optional relationship descriptions and photos, and your selection of assessment participants.
- Unfinished assessment answers, completed assessment scores and past results, including names associated with those results.
- Unfinished exercise and quiz answers, exercise completion dates, counts, favorites and ratings, and education and quiz progress such as completion dates, attempt counts and scores.
- In app versions with the free Positive Relational Moments library, completed moments keep the reflections, descriptions and photos you save so you can revisit and edit them. Other completed exercises do not keep their written answers.
CARE does not currently sync these records between devices through a CARE service or iCloud. Your iPhone’s own backup settings may separately include app data in an Apple-managed backup.
Photos, videos, and audio you choose
Media is optional in most exercises; Keep a Photo Close requires a photo because viewing that photo is the exercise. CARE uses Apple’s photo picker for photos and videos and Apple’s file picker for audio files. If you add a profile or relationship photo, the app makes a reduced-size copy and saves it locally with that record.
While an exercise is in progress, CARE may keep a media reference or a local copy of a selected photo, video, or audio file so you can continue and play it. Unneeded exercise media copies are removed when you finish or discard the exercise. In app versions with the Positive Relational Moments library, a completed moment may keep a local photo copy, including one you add later in the library. Originals in Photos or Files remain yours to manage through iOS.
When you use outside services
- YouTube: Playing an embedded video loads Google’s Privacy Enhanced Mode player in temporary browser storage. Google may still receive device, network, advertising, and playback information under Google’s Privacy Policy, but the video view is not used to personalize your YouTube experience or ads outside CARE.
- Messages: If you choose to share an exercise, CARE opens the iOS message composer with content you selected. You decide whether to send it; your message is then handled by your messaging provider.
- External links: Opening a link to another website, including YouTube or TikTok clips offered by some exercises, takes you to that provider, whose practices may differ from CARE’s.
- Purchases: In app versions with the optional one-time CARE Action Plan purchase, Apple presents the purchase sheet and processes the transaction. CARE checks the verified purchase status on your device to unlock access; it does not receive your payment-card details.
- App support: If you submit the CARE support form, the name, reply email, topic, and message you provide are sent through Vercel and Amy Banks, MD’s website to the CARE support team. This information is used to respond to and manage your request. Do not include assessment answers or other sensitive personal information.
This privacy page and the support form are hosted by Vercel. As with other websites, its hosting provider may process routine connection information needed to deliver the pages. The privacy page does not ask you to submit your CARE app data.
Your choices and deletion
You can choose whether to select media, share a message, or allow notifications and Face ID. Manage device permissions in iOS Settings. CARE keeps locally saved records until you remove them in the app or remove the app, subject to any separate device backup you control.
In Profile → Privacy, you can clear profile information, saved relationships, assessment data, or all CARE data. In app versions with the Positive Relational Moments library, you can also edit or delete an individual saved moment in that library. Clearing relationships alone does not remove names already included in past assessment results. To remove those names from this device, also clear assessment data or choose Clear All Data. Clearing all CARE data removes the app’s saved moment photo copies from this device; it does not remove originals in your Photos library or separate device backups.
Because CARE has no app account or server copy of these records, Amy Banks, MD cannot remotely view or delete the information stored in your app. Use the in-app controls on each device, and manage any iOS backups separately.
Updates to this policy
If CARE’s data practices change, this page will be updated and its effective date revised. The app’s privacy information and App Store disclosures should be updated to match.
